What Happened A Place In Greece Smoking Ban In Greece - Will It Ever Happen?

Smoking ban in Greece - will it ever happen? - what happened a place in greece

I live on a Greek island and has a child of 3 months. I can not take place because smoking in all pubs, restaurants, business people. People smoke in the bank, IKA offices in the cafes and playgrounds, including the doctor smokes in his office. I was a smoker before I was pregnant, but had the good sense to quit, and I never smoke in the presence of children or babies.

I'm not going to weddings and other social occasions with my baby, and I know we have dozens of people around us suffer smoke. Why Greece is so far behind the rest of Europe when it comes to such things?

It will be a ban on smoking in public places in Greece? Does anyone have any information

  1. Unfortunately, you are right.
Failure to comply with the laws of the Greeks and the inability of the Greek armed forces to enforce the laws prohibiting smoking, this whole situation makes unpleasant smoke everywhere in Greece.
The Greeks have known that smoke .... much. Since there is no known prohibition in the strong countries and other European countries, the United States against smoking (because of the correlation and widespread smoking and lung cancer and other serious lung disease), tobacco companies have their campaign for the country where enforcement is minimal or non-existent place.
As companies grow their products in Greece, snuff, where the Greeks are still the image of "oi ksipnoi kapnizoun Marlboro", "Ston topo tis kseniasias ela me ena camel," etc. (eg ads are really wpow er for them to believe that it in baking when removed).
Nobody talks about 60 years ago with lung cancer or emphysema in the advertisements, they all bear the image of the runner healthy and free from care with a Marlboro. (I bet you do not even know the guy died in the display) of lung cancer.
Anyway, the point here is that the tobacco compositions richer and the Greeks die suddenly serious and incurable disease, without having to stop the attempt by each party to power.
Perhaps it is time for politicians to do something?
For the sake of the next generation, we must all do something

  3. I do not know why I thought there already a ban on smoking in Greece. In many restaurants and several rooms are available, but unfortunately these things take so long only in Greece and then on the way in which they withdrew. What not to smoke in public, but they are the norm, and no one checks ..

  4. Ten years ago if someone had told me that Ireland has managed to enforce a ban on smoking in pubs across the country and are, I would have laughed. But what is really happening, Ireland was the first country to do so. So it could well happen in Greece. Simply start the rumor that the Turks think about it, Greece will not be like them from Turkey!

(Sometimes there is a lot more enemies and worst of all, what friends to achieve a greater good.)

  5. Never heard the quote is one to do when in Rome as the Romans?
If you do not like Greece, because they live in another country.
In my opinion, Europe is not behind the protection of individualism that the rest of Europe following stupid smoking ban USA.
I hope that Greece does not
Change course I've read a lot about the risks of smoking, but many scientificaly. Also that has never been proved, as we do not all smokers die young? And last but not least, I do not know how the state of enforcement of the things that reminds me of communism!
Do not smoke, too, with children or pregnant women around to me and if you ask me, nice if you can stop, should be something like mutual respect and common sense that we do not need Big Brother.

  7. This is not a political issue .... is just the economy.

Carbon tax is the highest form that the income tax in Greece. So the taxpayers of smoke is to live in the state treasury to be paid immediately. An estimate is paid approximately € 10.12 million every day in taxes from smoking.

He claimed that if her away.

  8. There is a law that smoking in public places, work bans, such as banks may not, etc., and restaurants smoke. While we wonder what they are authorized by law, will not happen. It is generally forbidden in those places, I get to the person in charge and file a formal complaint if someone smokes where they should not. He also requested a guarantee Non smoking, that the restaurant owners know when I want a client. If all those who will do the same, instead of giving up what happens. I fought for this for 5 years, the placement of the struggle on ferries, planes, etc. Yes, 30 years ago, people were smoking in ebven-Non smoking area of transportation. Well, mine and others - have borne the fruits of efforts in these areas tend to haveAccount. So do not give up the demand, threat, to appeal to reward those who have no smokers. Fort instance, go to Starbucks, which is a non-smoker, and I prefer restaurants that are Non smoking.

Asimenia, you should not lie, you're on the right and people should be ashamed of smoking in his shop, and not vice versa. You can not smoke a signal, and if someone complains, we can say that other people such as me - smoke and unpleasant odors on clothing. In addition, the paidotopos, smoking is absurd! tell the owner that some parents might not return, but many people do not go now because, as it is because of smoking. First signatures, if necessary call the police if he still does not tell him to shut down by the Lawunless it bans smoking! Action is the only way to help, otherwise we are part of the problem, if we accept the situation!

  10. I doubt it, Nicky.
I have no problem with people smoking in bars, cafes, pubs and cafes, etc.) for children (bouncy castle, which really disturbs me - taverns, especially in the middle of the night, when families have for lunch. I sent my children to play in the park next door, because he smoked last week was unbelievable! I opened the door for 2 minutes and yelled at me for a table of 15 smokers with children!

If you are a smoker in a pub .. It's like a corner to pee in a pool!

Above all, I am very concerned about the locations of the inflatables that have been opened throughout Greece. The cafes are designed for children - I came on another day and had the feeling that was in a bar in Athens, at 5 Clock!

SmoKing is a great business here!
When I was in the United Kingdom in October that he hated pubs without smoke! The bar smells very rare today - drink rancid BO! Yuk make smoking in bars, but not when children are!

I think the worst experience was when I wanted to buy a newspaper and had the window peripteral closed, opened it and found the thick cloud of smoke right in my face! I could not breathe for a few seconds!
I assume that for a smoker that would be a drag-been free!

Never smoked - smoking parents are - that's enough for my sister and I went for life!

Just post a comment on the truth-seeker

I asked a woman in my tent, as it wasTo sell tobacco, and clothing - I do not smell. But I do not lie and say I have an allergy, because I could see she was very excited and surprised - I felt so guilty that I bought your book, cosmetics (like Avon). I'm not saying I know I'm in the minority when it comes to smoking in Greece !#________________

    I remembered something
I will ask the owner of the Moonwalk (paidotopo) Why is smoking - he did not say, but if you do not ask the people in it, you do not return (and all their staff to smoke a lot of smoke) You see - this is probably not our lives happen! He hopes that the young generation of smoke is not so much - but they all seem to smoke at the local High School.

Cipinatsi - I do not want people in every paidotopos smoked, but today I'm probably the only non-smokers (kids like!)
    So many signatures!
I am soooo glad that we agree on something! Thanks
